Our 2nd annual cybersecurity breakfast briefing at The Metropolitan Club Willis Tower went over very well in October. If you haven't been there you missed a very enlightening (and a bit frightening briefing).
The event kicked off with a full hot breakfast, a sunny and clear view of 2 states from the windows of the club and great interaction between a variety of guests with diverse backgrounds. While everyone was enjoying eggs, pancakes, coffee etc we kicked off with an FBI Field Agent on Cybercrime as keynote speaker. I believe we were ALL amazed at the increase in cybercrime activity that was shared by the FBI agent. Did you know that the 90% of cybercrime attacks come through email? Did you also know that the average amount of attack is over $100,000? In a nutshell a cybercriminal could (through email) heist a company for that amount and more.
There was so much more shared, and we'd like to make you aware of some of the ways YOU can protect yourself. So reach out to us anytime with your concerns and questions on how to be safer in these times.
Vince Arden wrapped up the last 20 minutes with an amusing and yet eye-opening presentation on "Stupid Human Behavior." We weren't trying to insult anyone, but we live in a rush rush busy world and so we all occasionally are guilty. One wrong click on an email, easy to hack passwords and other not so intelligent behaviors were covered. Simply stated we ALL need to slow down when working and make sure you "think before you click."
We will continue to make you aware of security, with webinars and live events in 2019. Please sign up for future events and in the notes mention Cybersecurity Events.
To your safety and Security!
